I Tried Crumbl’s 4th of July Lineup— Here’s My Honest Review

I hate to admit it but Crumbl Cookies hasn’t been high on my list of places to visit, mainly because I didn’t even realize that there was a location near me. Come to find out, there are actually FOUR within a 30 minute drive of where I live. You learn something new every day!

Beside being totally clueless about my proximity to the famed cookie chain, I have always been someone who prefers baking my own treats (hence the food blog). But when I got an opportunity to sample the new 4th of July lineup, I couldn’t pass up the chance.

Crumbl’s 4th of July offerings include several themed treats, and at first glance they are definitely intriguing. The full lineup is listed below:

  • Summer Berry Tart Cookie – A delicate shortbread cookie topped with silky vanilla bean mousse, house-made strawberry jam, fresh raspberries, and fresh blueberries.
  • Cornbread Cookie – A warm cornbread cookie smothered with honey butter glaze, topped with thick honey buttercream frosting, and finished with a drizzle of honey.
  • Campfire Skillet Cookie – A chocolate cookie rolled in graham cracker crumbs and baked over a graham cracker base, then topped with chocolate squares, marshmallow mousse, graham streusel, and melted milk chocolate.
  • Cherry Bomb Cookie ft. Golden OREO® – A chilled vanilla cookie rolled in Golden OREO® crumbles and swirled with lime, cherry, and blue raspberry cream cheese frostings.
  • Strawberry Shortcake – A double-stacked vanilla shortcake layered with fresh whipped cream and house-made strawberry jam.
  • Patriotic Sugar Cookie – A vanilla sugar cookie topped with vanilla buttercream and red, white, and blue star-shaped sprinkles.
  • Caramel Apple Crisp Cookie – A cinnamon streusel cookie layered with apple pie filling, a drizzle of caramel, crumbled oat streusel, and a scoop of vanilla bean mousse, then finished with another caramel drizzle.

I received six treats, including the Summer Berry Tart Cookie, the Cherry Bomb Cookie, the Strawberry Shortcake, the Patriotic Sugar Cookie, and the Caramel Apple Crisp Cookie, plus one of their classic Chocolate Chip Cookies.

I was initially disappointed that I didn’t get one of the Cornbread cookies, but that disappointment didn’t last long once I unboxed the treats. Despite the heat outside, the cookies survived the journey to my doorstep. The vanilla mousse on the Caramel Apple Crisp Cookie had melted a bit, but beyond that, everything looked delicious.

I started off with the Summer Berry Tart Cookie, which, in my opinion, was the prettiest of the bunch. The fresh berries were bright and flavorful, and the vanilla bean mousse was lightly sweet against the shortbread cookie. The classic Chocolate Chip cookie was exactly what you’d expect from one of their standard offerings. I imagine it would be even better served warm over a scoop of ice cream.

Next, I sampled the Cherry Bomb Cookie and the Patriotic Sugar Cookie, which were just okay. Personally, I felt like the icing on both were a bit too sugary for my liking, but if you love sweet treats, you’ll definitely want to give them a try.

The Strawberry Shortcake was pleasantly delicious, with a super light and airy cake and equally tasty whipped cream. I was shocked at how well the whipped cream topping held up in the heat (especially having worked with fresh whipped cream in the summer months— with very melty results).

The Caramel Apple Crisp Cookie was also a truly surprising treat. Unlike the shortcake, the topping on this cookie had basically turned into a vanilla mousse puddle by the time I unboxed things, but looks can be deceiving because this ended up being one of my favorites. I loved the varied textures that came from the tender apple filling, caramel drizzle, crumbly streusel, and cinnamon cookie. And despite the many components, this cookie was not unbearably sweet like some of the others I tried. If I had to choose one cookie to order again, the Caramel Apple Crisp Cookie would be the winner.

Baked treats aren’t the only thing Crumbl is serving up. They also dropped two Chocolate Strawberry Cups for limited time. The Dubai-Style Chocolate Strawberry Cup features milk chocolate, pistachio cream, crunchy toasted Kataifi pieces, and sliced strawberries. And the Chocolate Strawberry Cup is perfect for fans of the classic chocolate-covered-berries, with layers of milk chocolate and fresh sliced strawberries.

Surprisingly, the Chocolate Strawberry cups ended up being my absolute favorites of the entire lineup. The berries were chilled, sweet and fresh, while the chocolate (and pistachio cream for the Dubai-style one) offered a silky finish that was absolutely refreshing on a hot summer day. While it’s a simple treat, you just can’t go wrong with the combination of berries and chocolate, and Crumbl really makes that clear with this launch.

All in all, I really loved getting the opportunity to dig in to this fun lineup of cookies and treats. Make sure to drop by your nearest Crumbl to give them a try while these limited time offerings are still here!
