dinner party diaries: housewarming edition

Iโve finally settled in at my latest apartment, which happens to be my fourth place in the last four years. My first apartment out of college was actually nice, aside from the shared laundry and the fact that it was only 400 square feet. My second place was a stunning loft located above a brewery, but it was on a busy street that was always noisy. Couple that with an unresolved spider infestation, and I was all too happy to look elsewhere at the end of my lease.
My last apartment was the converted attic of a 1920s โmansionโ overlooking the Susquehanna River. And while sunsets were absolutely breathtaking, the buildingโs age was evident and the repairs wereโฆ lacking.
Luckily, I moved into my current apartment in December after falling in love with the cozy environment. As soon as I toured it last October, I knew it would be the perfect place to host my loved ones, thanks to the welcoming street, spacious living area, and sunny backyard. The dishwasher is a nice touch too!

I waited for spring to plan my housewarming party because I wanted to decorate the yard and host a โgarden partyโ of sorts. As luck would have it, it poured the entire day but that didnโt keep us from having a lovely time complete with crafts, music, and games.
The menu featured some of my favorite dishes, including pasta alla vodka and Caesar salad with homemade croutons. And we canโt forget dessert, which was a cookie butter cake (which I forgot to take photos of) and soft serve ice cream made with my Ninja Creami Swirl.

Full recipes for everything will be posted soon. I couldnโt let too much time go by without expressing how grateful I am to finally be in an apartment that feels like home, and how lucky I am to have people to share it with.
Iโm looking forward to many more dinner parties as summer approaches, and will of course be sharing all the details here in my dinner party diaries! Thanks for reading!
